Botany Public School

Teachers are currently putting the finishing touches to your child's Semester 1 reports which will be sent home on Wednesday 3 July. Please check that your contact details are up to date so that we can ensure you receive your child's report. This year we have made some updates to our report template, based on feedback from parents and teachers. Below is more detailed information about the changes that have been made. We will also be running a parent workshop on Tuesday 18 June at 3:15pm in the library. Children are welcome to attend.

On Monday 27th May, Stage 2 were invited by Bayside Council to join the ‘Yarn Now More Than Ever’ event at Sir Joseph Banks Park. This kicked off reconciliation week and gave the students a chance to learn more about Aboriginal culture and traditions.

Students were involved in a number of activities including learning about worm farms, planting and a bush walk where they learnt more about Indigenous plants, their importance and their various uses.

The students enjoyed walking to the park and discovering more about our local area and how to protect and care for it.

Stage 1 had a wonderful day visiting Vaucluse House.

We were learning about how people lived in the past and compared it to how we live now. Highlights included walking through the rooms of Vaucluse House, doing the chores around the kitchen, wandering through the vegetable gardens and playing games from yesteryear.

Everyone had a great time.

The students are enjoying Piano Club! Thank you Ms Tkachenko for organising a fun morning.

The next Piano Club will meet in the Johnny Warren Hall on Friday 21 June at 8am. 

Students participating in PSSA Sport depart school at approximately 12.30pm Friday. 

Please make sure students wear full uniform including a school hat and bring a drink bottle.  

We’ve made some nice progress in planning discussions and will be meeting next week to discuss our next goals and movements. Come along and join us on Friday 7^th June at 9am and become part of the team, we welcome more ideas and hands on deck.

The next P&C meeting will be held on Tuesday 18^th June, ay 6:30pm in the School library.

Our term 2 Mums dinner and drinks get together will be held on Friday 28^th June at 6:30pm. We will be meeting at Beer Fontaine, 1575 Botany Road. To RSVP, please contact Aasa on 0422 743 974

On Tuesday 2^nd July, the P&C will be running a Canteen during recess. Everything will cost just a gold coin. We are currently needing volunteers and donations of baked goods on the day will be gratefully accepted, so please contact Aasa on 0422 743 974 to lend a hand.

The P&C have BPS branded tote bags for sale for $15. They are a great size to use for your shopping or carrying around all the kids stuff. If you want to purchase one, please message the P&C Facebook page.
