Term 2 Week 6

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. As part of our reconciliation journey, it was a pleasure to join the Reconciliation Walk at Bellambi Public School. Following the walk, we joined other local students to enjoy Indigenous culture through dance, the sharing of stories and a smoking ceremony. What a privilege to be part of such a meaningful day with a local context.

Our Athletics Carnival will hopefully go ahead this Thursday as the grounds have had time to dry. We are still looking for a few more parent volunteers to help with time-keeping and the raking of pits. If you are available to help on the day and want to do so, but haven’t filled out the form via School Bytes, please see Mr Batley or email the school.

Best of luck to our class winners who are advancing to our stage finals of both Public Speaking and the Premier’s Spelling Bee. Our Stage 2 & 3 Public Speakers will present their speeches to students Tuesday 3^rd June at 9:15 in the school Hall. Kindergarten and Stage 1 will be presenting theirs Wednesday 4^th June at 11:30. Our Spelling Bee final will also take place Wednesday 4^th June from 9:15 in the hall. Parents and carers are welcome to join these events.
