Drop off and Pick Up

We are asking parents to assist us to support the safe drop off and pick up of students by not lingering or crowding near the front doorway and gateway. While we understand that you may need to exchange some quick information with staff at this time - we ask that you move away from thoroughfares to do so. Some of our students find the crowding of these areas as stressful if they need to walk through and may react negatively in theses circumstances.

We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Matilda's Farmyard

As we mentioned earlier in the term, we are going to have a few incursions for the students, in lieu of horse riding this year.

Exciting news, Matilda's Farmyard is coming to visit our school THIS TUESDAY.  This cost of this experience for our students is being covered by the donations from the Mollymook Bowling Club - who usually subsides the horse-riding.

Notes went out on the School App - Please make sure you complete the online permission note on the APP so that your child can attend.

*********Students will not be able to attend this incursion without a signed permission slip - so jump online now !**********************

SASS Recognition Week

I want to take the time to let you all know that at Budawang School we have  very special support staff who work tirelessly with compassion and enthusiasm every day to support our students to giving them every opportunity to strive and succeed. Today I want to thank our support staff from the bottom of my heart, with them our school simply would not function. Thank you for our continued hard work, your empathy,  your passion and dedication and for the time you put into nurturing special relationships with the students under your care.

Blue Class News

Term 3 seems to have flown by in Blue Class! We have all been working really hard on building on our communication skills to request our wants and needs, with some successful outcomes.

In Blue Class this term we have started to learn about the different places in which plants, animals and people live.  Students started by looking at where they live using photographs and they enjoyed seeing photographs of where their classmates live also.  One of the favoured activities for many students was creating a coastal habitat using sand and water in a sensory tray with plastic ocean animals, shells and rocks.

One of the highlights for students this term was using a blender and switch to make chocolate and strawberry milkshakes, whilst learning about the Narrawilly Dairy in Milton.  Each student enjoyed taking turns to use the switch to work the blender and many students tasted both milkshakes.  Blue Class students have also been working hard on developing their motor skills whilst using different cooking equipment.  They have had the opportunity to use a knife to cut, a peeler to peel and a grater to grate different fruits and vegetables.   It has been wonderful to see the students engaging with these activities with their confidence and independence developing as the term has progressed.

Students in Blue Class have also been learning a few Aboriginal Games, including gorri, koolchee koolchee, pirrha and chuboochuboo.  These games have encouraged pupils to work together, share resources and take turns.   Koolchee koolchee was a particular favourite as it involves working on teams to take turns to knock over skittles with a ball.

Thank you and Well Done to Blue Class for all your efforts this term.  We look forward to what the rest of the year brings for each of you!

Positive Behaviour for Learning

Be Caring- Look After Things

Being caring at Budawang School means we look after things.

We do this to play safely, and learn to pack things/toys away and to be gentle with items

To practice this at home you could involve your child in packing things away after playing.

Be Safe- Dress Safely

Being safe at Budawang School means dressing safely.

We do this to protect our dignity and protect ourselves from the environment

To practice this at home you can model how to keep your clothes on, shirt on the top of your body and pants/shorts on your legs.
