I am pleased to announce that Mrs Smith has been successful in gaining the position of Relieving Principal at Scarborough Public School. Mrs Smith will commence in the role tomorrow (Tuesday 8 September) and I know that although she is looking forward to the opportunity and to working alongside the Scarborough staff, students and community over the coming terms, it is with a heavy heart that she leaves our Russell Vale community. 

Please join me in congratulating Mrs Smith on her new role and wishing her every success. We hope to welcome her back to RVPS following her appointment. 

Due to this sudden staffing change, I will be relieving as Principal until Mr Cuthbertson returns from his long service leave next Tuesday 15 September.

Our next P&C meeting will take place tonight, Monday 7 September at 7:00 pm at Woonona Bulli RSL. It’s pleasing to share that we continue to have strong and consistent attendance at these meetings. If you have not attended previously, new members are always welcome. 

Our fundraising committee is still looking for some extra support! We currently have a rather large group of volunteers assisting with the Fundraising Committee. However, we are seeking an interested volunteer to take over the coordinator role. If you’re interested in joining this dedicated group, please come along and join us. We have a supportive group of volunteers that helps and guides with support. We are now addressing succession planning as key members’ children will graduate from the school at the end of this year. If you would like to find out more information about this role, please do not hesitate to contact me or any current member of the P&C. 

If you have a younger child starting school next year or know of any families who are planning to enrol their child(ren) at Russell Vale Public School, our online enrolment system is currently open to process these registrations. Our Kindergarten orientation planning has begun and the dates below have been mailed to families. Welcome to our new families for 2027! We will be hosting our first Kindy playgroup this Thursday 10 September. This is a great opportunity for our new kindergarten students for 2027 to become familiar with our school and teachers before our Kindergarten Orientation Sessions in Term 4. 

On Wednesday 9 September, Interrelate will be hosting an educational online session for parents and carers around tricky talks including topics like puberty, relationships, and resilience. The aim is to support students, families, and communities to build healthy, respectful, and informed relationships. On Friday 11 September, Stage 2 and Stage 3 students will be attending our Gala Days. Stage 3 will be playing Touch Football at Hollymount Park, while Stage 2 will be playing soccer at Ocean Park, Woonona. Please ensure Stage 2 students wear shin pads - no boots allowed. Permission notes have been sent via School Bytes, and all permissions should be submitted by Wednesday 9 September. 

P&C Fundraising are holding a Dominos Pizza Day on Monday 14 September. Orders can be made through Flexischools with different options for pizza and a drink (gluten and dairy free options are available). Orders will cut off on Thursday 10 September at 9:00 pm.

Many families have fees paid in advance currently sitting as credit in their School Bytes account. With the end of the year approaching, we kindly ask families to use their available credit before making any final payments.

The uniform shop is currently open every Monday from 8:30 am - 9:00 am or by appointment.
