Term 2 Week 6
3rd June 2024
Principal Report
Athletics Carnival
Thank you to Mr Batley for his effort in organising an excellent Athletics Carnival. Also, a big thank you goes to all staff and parent volunteers for providing such a superb day! It was great to see so many parents and community members in attendance to cheer on our students.
Soccer Knockout
Congratulations to both knockout soccer teams for their mighty effort last week. Both the boys and girl’s teams beat Coledale in their first matches to advance to the next round. A big thank you to Mrs Rafferty and Mr Elsley for providing this opportunity for our students.
World Environment Day Fundraiser
Wednesday the 5th of June is World Environment Day, a day for global awareness and action to protect our environment for future generations. Russell Vale Public School will mark this important day with a mufti day fundraiser; for a gold coin donation, students are encouraged to wear mufti clothes in green or floral print. All money raised will be used to purchase new fruit and native trees for our school, for our students and community to enjoy (Mrs Cleall is busy making a wish list!) Thank you for your continued support.
Living Ripples Survey
It has been a year since we implemented Living Ripples, a three-year wellbeing and resilience model to assist Australian Primary Schools to confidently survey their students, staff and families. We would appreciate if you could spare five minutes to complete the survey via the link below and entering the code. This key data will support the wellbeing and mental health of our students. To start survey go to: https://lr.resilientyouth.org/
School Name: Russell Vale Public School
Access Codes: 264756
The Resilience Survey is open now until the 5th of July
Reconciliation Walk
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Our students, Years 3-6 participated in a walk for Reconciliation last Friday. They braved the cold weather and drizzly rain and walked to Bellambi Point. Following the walk, they joined other local students to enjoy Indigenous culture through dance, the sharing of stories and a smoking ceremony. What a privilege to be part of such a meaningful day.
P&C Meeting
The next P&C meeting will be held on Monday 17th June 2024 7:00 pm at Woonona Bulli RSL.
