Principal Message

Welcome back to Term 3!

What an amazing day we had for the first day back of term. All our students had a fantastic NAIDOC celebration and participated in a variety of different cultural activities throughout the day. We had a wonderful show from our Gunggung Group who performed a dreamtime story. The NAIDOC theme for 2024 is 'Keep the Fire Burning', and Skye demonstrated a smoking ceremony and described its cleansing benefits. Thank you to the wonderful JPPS team for putting together such a successful day and the support we received from many community members helping on the day as well. Thank you! It means so much to all our students.

We are looking forward to celebrating Public Education Week in Week 3. We have a variety of different activities throughout the week for you to attend. Please see the ENews message sent on 23rd July with a detailed description of the week and Book Fair times. We are especially looking forward to our book parade and our picnic, sharing special times with our families. Please see the attached invite. We will also be holding a book fair and celebrating 100 Days of School with our Kindergarten families. It would be wonderful if you could attend an event over the week. We look forward to celebrating Public Education Week with you.

We have several excursions coming up over the next few weeks. Please make sure payment and permission are given well before the due date to avoid disappointment. Lots of time and effort goes into organising these events and unfortunately, last-minute changes/inclusions cannot be accommodated. If you are having any difficulties, please contact the school office.

We finally have 8 new handball courts along the shopping centre wall. It was wonderful to stand on the top floor and watch our students run out to use them for the first time.

We are all looking forward to a busy and exciting term. Have a good weekend!
