Term 4 Week 8
2nd December 2024
Message from the Principal
P&C Meeting Tonight
I extend an invitation to all families, parents, carers and grandparents to attend our P&C meeting Monday 2nd December, 7:00pm at Woonona-Bulli RSL. This will be our last meeting of the school year and I would like to take the opportunity to thank each and every parent or carer who has either attended meetings or assisted with P&C- related events. We have a very dedicated group of members who brings a lot of extras to our students.
School Satisfaction Survey
I thank you in advance for your feedback on what we do at Russell Vale Public School. This survey is different to the Tell Them from Me Survey that was distributed last term and it is required that we address the results in our Annual School Report. The school satisfaction survey can be completed at: https://forms.gle/XAfxBDZKqn4wHoZ76
Presentation Day and Carols
We hope that you can join us Tuesday 10th December for our annual Presentation Day, followed by carols in the Hall. The Presentation Day assembly will take place at approximately 9:15am. Following that, parents and carers are welcome to join us for recess break and stay for carols which will begin at approximately 11:30am.
Reports
Reports will go home on the same day as Presentation Day. As always, these reports will indicate whether the classroom teacher is requesting a parental interview. However, I am reminding you that you too can request an interview and this can happen at any time throughout the school year, including following these reports.
Volunteer Afternoon Tea
We will also be holding our Volunteer Afternoon Tea on Thursday 12th December in the hall. I thank our many volunteers for their time and efforts this year, making Russell Vale such a great community and school for our students.
Graduation
Year 6 Graduation Ceremony will take place Tuesday, 17th December at approximately 9:15 am. The celebrations will continue later in the evening. Detailed information regarding the start and finish times has been communicated to families.

P&C Update
The Russell Vale Public P&C would like to thank the families and friends of Russell Vale Public School for their support during 2024. The P&C have organised and run many activities and experiences that directly benefit Russell Vale Public School students and our community, and we could not do this without support. We will continue to raise funds for the Farm Project and ensure that the many animals that call RVPS home are secure in a brand new shed! The P&C have also allocated funds to provide vouchers to Presentation Day award recipients to acknowledge and celebrate their success at school this year.
Hot Dog Day
Friday 6th December is Hot Dog Day (Week 8). Please use the Flexischools app to order a hotdog and drink combo for your child's lunch at school. Gluten free bread rolls are available as well as a variety of drinks. Order close Monday 2nd December.
Uniform Shop
Bucket Hats - The P&C have sourced a new hat for RVPS students. The hat is adjustable, reversible and washable while meeting the Australian standards for sun safety. Hats can be ordered in two sizes (medium and large). Each hat can be reversed to show the RVPS House colours which will allow students to support their sports house during carnival days. Hats can be ordered through the Flexischools app for $20.00.
Kindergarten Starter Value Pack - The Uniform Shop offers a starter pack to new students starting Kindergarten in 2025. The pack includes 3 x school polos, 1 x polar fleece and 1 x reversible bucket hat. The pack can be ordered through the Flexischools app for $140.00
Christmas Raffle
You would have found the book of raffle tickets for this year's Russell Vale Public School Christmas Raffle in your child's bag. The sale of these raffle tickets will raise further funds for the farm shed project. The raffle will be drawn at Presentation Day at the end of the year. If you have or know of anyone who can donate a prize, please phone the school office.
How Can You Support the Russell Vale Public School P&C?
Ensuring our students are supported to reach their high potential is a priority for our school community. The P&C will continue to work with Russell Vale Public School to ensure all students participate in a wide range of school experiences including discos, fetes, the school canteen and the farm. To ensure that we can continue to support our students, the Russell Vale Public School P&C require support in the form of new members. Please join us at the next P&C meeting and find out how you can support the P&C.
The next P&C meeting is on Monday 2nd December, 7pm at the Woonona/Bulli RSL.
Please contact the P&C secretary via email if you have any questions or wish to register your interest in joining the P&C. secretary@RVPSPnC.onmicrosoft.com
