Principal's Message

I hope you all had a fantastic long weekend after all the rain last week. The playground is starting to dry out. When we are unable to get outside on the grass due to the weather, students are always given the opportunity throughout the day to move around in the fresh air and stretch their legs beyond the classroom. We are all hoping this is the end of the rain for a while.

Apart from the rain, the weather has also been quite unpredictable. Please make sure your child is wearing the appropriate uniform for the weather, and that all items are clearly labelled with their name. This makes the return of lost items much easier. The Uniform Shop has a long-sleeved polo for colder school days. The link is on our website.

We are experiencing higher levels of sickness at school at the moment. Thank you for keeping your child home when they are sick. We have had a number of cases of influenza, Covid, RSV and mycoplasma pneumoniae. Typical symptoms of mycoplasma pneumoniae include fever, cough, bronchitis, sore throat, headache, sore chest and tiredness. The infection is spread when an infected person talks, coughs or sneezes small droplets containing infectious agents into the air. The droplets in the air may be breathed in by those nearby. Infection may be spread by contact with hands, tissues and other articles soiled by infected nose and throat discharges. Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection is also spread by direct contact with the infected person. You should seek medical assistance for your child if they display the above symptoms. Students should continue to stay home until they are well.

I am very much looking forward to the Athletics Carnival next week. It is my first event of the year. A special mention to the staff who have organised this event. It takes a team effort. Thank you!
