Principal Message
Mrs Butler gave me a wonderful review of the Band performance a few weekends ago whilst I was on leave. The crowd was so engaged with the performances and our students showcased their many skills. It is fantastic to see how well they are able to perform in such a short time of being a band. Thank you to Teaching Services Australia for all the work put into organising these events and supporting our school.
I would like to give a shout out to our community members, in particular, Classroom Catering and Norwest Community Childcare. Both these services go above and beyond to support JPPS and our community members. Sometimes, it is just the little things that make a HUGE difference to others. On Tuesday night, we held our 2026 Kindergarten Parent Information Night. It was great to see many new and familiar faces. Lots of our familiar faces recalled not being able to attend this event with their older children due to lockdown. It was also great just chatting with families. I heard an excellent saying from one of our parents that I had to write down. It was in regard to whether you should send a child to school if they are a bit younger or only 4 and a half. It went along the lines of "If you just want your child to survive, send them early, if you want your child to thrive, wait until they are more ready to start learning". At JPPS, our aim is to set every child up for success in their learning. Thank you to the Kindy staff and our school captains for giving up your time on the evening.
Stewart House is an important school setting that helps children in need across New South Wales. Located by the beach in Curl Curl, it offers a safe and caring environment for disadvantaged kids or those who have suffered a significant event. The program helps children grow in many ways by focusing on their physical health, emotions, and education. At Stewart House, children receive support through counselling, health programs, and help with their studies. This support helps them feel better about themselves, make friends, and feel like they belong. Stewart House is supported by donations from schools all across NSW. We supported them earlier in the year with their envelope drive. Next week, we are supporting them again with our SRC PJ fundraiser on Wednesday. It would be wonderful if your family could support this cause by dressing in mufti and donating a gold coin. It is a wonderful charity supporting public school students who are less fortunate.
2025 Spelling Bee: Congratulations to Vedansh from 3/4O who is our Stage 2 representative. He succeeded after five rounds of competition, spelling osteopath correctly. Equal second place was Charvi from 4R, Sairaav from 3L and Evleen from 3L. After 20 ROUNDS of competition, our Stage 3 representative for 2025 is Diya from 5P! Our runner up is Ayush from 5/6A. Neither Diya nor Ayush spelled a single word incorrectly until Round 20! A huge achievement for you both!
On Wednesday, JPPS hosted the finals for the Multicultural Public Speaking Competition. Talents were showcased from a variety of schools. Well done to our JPPS speakers on making it through to the finals and for their fantastic achievements. Congratulations to Jackson from 4R who was awarded Highly Commended in the Stage 2 finals, and Deeksha from 5B who was awarded Champion in the Stage 3 finals. Our outstanding school leaders who went above and beyond, as always, to help keep the day running smoothly. Thank you for all you do for our school.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend! 1 week until the holidays.
