Congratulations to our Girls' Soccer team, who unfortunately had their season end today. The girls did a great job making it to the South Coast final, however they lost 1-0 to Shell Cove Public School with only a few minutes left in extra time. What a fantastic year they have had and a big thank you to Mr Elsley for his time and effort in training and coaching our girls. 

Thank you to our parental volunteers for organising Pizza Day, which will take place this Wednesday. Orders have now closed.

Last day of term will feature our Jump Off Day celebration at Russell Vale Public School! 

As part of the festivities, we will be having a special assembly at 11:30am where we will announce the winners of the colouring competition and the longest skipper challenge. During the assembly, students who have made it to the finals will also participate in a fun Minute to Win It skipping challenge. The Russell Vale Rockets Performance Squad will also be showcasing its impressive skipping skills with a special performance.

Following the skipping demonstration, all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will be placed into mixed-age groups and will rotate through a variety of skipping activities. Please note, parents are welcome to attend the assembly, but the skipping rotations are for students only.

Save the date - our school disco will take place next term, Friday 14th November, in the school hall. Thank you in advance to all parents who are assisting in organising the event. Detailed information will come when we enter Term 4. 

Best of luck to our public speakers who will be delivering their speeches at a Community of Schools assembly later this week. On Thursday afternoon, James M, Rosalie M and Finn B will be delivering their speeches at Woonona East Public School and on Friday morning, Giselle B and Angus M will deliver their speech at Woonona Public School. Upon returning from the school holidays, we will be hosting speakers from Woonona East Public School and Woonona Public School, along with our Kindergarten winners, while our Stage 3 speakers will deliver their speeches at Woonona High School on a date yet to be confirmed. 

We hope that you can join us for our Grandparents’ Day Assembly. This will take place Monday 27th October at approximately 9:15am to 9:30am in the school hall. Detailed information will come out early next term. 

Our second playgroup session will be held on Thursday of this week. If you have a child beginning school in 2026 who has not yet been enrolled, please do so via our website. If you require more information, please contact the office.

Congratulations to Nash J who is our Aussie of the Month for his outstanding active citizenship in our school community. 

I hope everyone has a very relaxing, yet enjoyable break. Monday 13th October is a School Development Day, meaning that students will return on Tuesday 14th October.

If your child is absent any day please notify the school by submitting an absence through School Bytes.

1. Log in to School Bytes
2. Click on Attendance (in the top navigation menu on the web and the yellow attendance tile on the app)  
3. Under Planned absences click on the 'Create' button
4. Enter details in the required fields and click on the 'Submit' button

Reminder - when collecting your child for an appointment please:

1. Telephone the office 10 minutes before you need the child to the office as sometimes the children are not in the classroom and we will need to find the class.
2. Please do not take the child without the office staff sighting the child with you.

For absences of more than 5 days, please submit an Application for Extended Leave which can be found under Forms on the School Bytes Portal.
