Fete

Thank you to each and every community member for joining us last weekend. It was fantastic to see so many community members and students, past and present, back at Russell Vale to share their fond memories. I especially thank Amanda Townsend and Dona D’Amico-Ward as the two main organisers behind this event. I also do not want to forget each and every volunteer that has helped make it such a successful event. It truly takes an entire community to host an event like this and Russell Vale continues to be a true community school.

Election

This weekend the school will be hosting voting for the election. Unfortunately, we will not be hosting a barbeque or cake stall this year due to the overwhelming commitment it has taken from our volunteers to celebrate our 70^th Anniversary.

**The Tell Them from Me Parental Survey**

This term, our school will be participating in the Partners in Learning parental survey, another part of the Tell Them from Me group of surveys (student, teacher and parental surveys) about student engagement. The survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are known to have an impact on student well-being and engagement.

Participating in this survey will help our staff to understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their children’s experience at school. These experiences include communication between parents/carers and staff, activities and practices at home, and parental/carer views on the school's expectations for students’ learning and behaviour. This valuable feedback will help our school to make practical improvements.

The survey is conducted entirely online on smartphones, iPads, tablets, laptops or computers. The survey will typically take 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. Your responses are very much appreciated.

Gala Day

Best of luck to all of our students in Years 3-6 for their Term 3 Gala Day this Friday.

Regional Athletics

Congratulations to Jayla M, Nixon M, Zack M, Emmett S, Miles W and Jai W for their efforts last week in Canberra for the Regional Athletics. Miles finished third in discus, qualifying for State. Nixon, Zack, Emmett and Jai finished third in relay and Jayla finished fifth in shot put.

School Disco

Save the date - our school disco will take place next term, Friday 8th November, in the school hall. Thank you in advance to all parents who are assisting in organising the event. Detailed information will come when we enter Term 4.

Grandparents’ Day Assembly

We have locked in a date for our Grandparents’ Day Assembly. This will take place Monday 28^th October at approximately 9:15am/9:30am in the school hall. Detailed information will come out early next term.

Welcome to our new Kinders

Our first play group session was held this morning. If you have a child beginning school in 2025 and who has not been yet enrolled, please contact the office for more information.
