Early Stage 1 News
In maths, KD has enjoyed revisiting patterns and prepositions where they engaged in fun, hands-on activities to demonstrate their learning. Prepositions are important as they help students understand the vital structures of a sentence and highlight the relationships between people, objects, and locations.
KD also had the opportunity to enjoy time in our computer lab where they practiced logging onto computers and typing in Word documents as part of our Digital Technologies unit.
In science, this term, K/1S Kindergarten students have been learning about the changing environment and how daily and seasonal changes affect us. The Year 1 students in K/1S are studying the unit 'Look up and around' in science, students learned about the night sky. They learned about constellations and then designed and created their own unique constellation.
KC has had a fantastic time as part of our school community, participating in memorable events like the Colour Run and Year 6 Fun Day. These experiences have been an exciting and unforgettable part of our journey at school.
We look forward to creating more memories together!

School Colour Fun Run
We had an absolute blast at the School Colour Fun Run! What a fantastic way to enjoy the vibrant colors, bask in the beautiful sunshine, and spend quality time with friends and family. It was a day filled with laughter and joy, and it was heart warming to see the students and their families participating in such a lively and colourful event.
Exploring Poetry
In our English lessons, we have been exploring poetry in its various forms. One form that stood out is Haiku poetry. Our students have taken on this challenge with enthusiasm and creativity, producing some impressive poems. It has been a delightful experience watching them experiment with words, syllables, and the beauty of simplicity in Haiku poetry. We continue to emphasise the importance of word choice and sentence structure in shaping our writing. Students are becoming increasingly aware of how the use of language can convey different emotions and messages.
Science - The Solar System
In science lessons, we are learning about the solar system. Our students are learning about how the sun and Earth interact to create the phenomena of night and day. It is fascinating to see their curiosity and excitement as they explore the wonders of our universe. Students are using their learning to express their creativity in visual arts.
World Teachers’ Day
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our amazing students and the school community for the beautiful words, cards, and gifts you've showered upon us. Your kindness and acknowledgment of our dedication mean a lot to us. Being with such inspiring and enthusiastic students every day and witnessing their growth is our greatest pleasure. Last week, 4K presented a heart warming assembly that highlighted the role teachers have in our lives. Their beautiful cards, heartfelt song, and kind words touched the hearts of all the teachers. Your support and recognition are deeply appreciated, and it motivates us to continue to give our best to your children's education.

2-4M had a blast running in the colour run. They enjoyed traversing the school collecting colour on their shirts. Back in the classroom, we have been learning how to read and represent three-digit numbers using MAB blocks. We can count large collections of objects, sort them into groups of hundreds and tens and we are learning to work flexibly with our numbers to add and subtract in our heads to find new totals.
Students in 3-6BP have been enjoying the sunshine during maths lessons. We have been exploring different capacities of a range of containers by estimating and then checking our answers by using uniform units to fill buckets. We can count how many cups it takes to fill another container.
Students in 1-2S have had an exciting past two weeks! They had a great day out on their Geography excursion to Centennial Park, exploring the features of places and the connections people have with places. Students also participated in the colour run, engaging in fun, physical activity to raise money for the school. A big congratulations to students in 1-2S for winning the best behaviour award from the secret judge at the last K-2 stage assembly.

Last week our school's garden club received a generous seedling donation, enhancing our garden. Thanks to Ms Jusna, students have planted tomatoes, pumpkins, lettuce and spinach and are eager to watch them grow. This demonstrates our community's incredible support and commitment to nurturing our environment. We appreciate this wonderful addition, thank you!

- medical appointment
- travel
- attendance at urgent or exceptional family circumstances.
It is also important that all children are at school by 9am. The diagrams below show the lost time and its cumulative effect on missing out on school.
