Reminder to Complete the Living Ripples Survey
It has been a year since we implemented Living Ripples, a three-year wellbeing and resilience model to assist Australian Primary Schools to confidently survey their students, staff and families. We would appreciate if you could spare five minutes to complete the survey via the link below and entering the code. This key data will support the wellbeing and mental health of our students.

Reports
Student’s Semester One Reports will be directly emailed to parents on Wednesday 26th of June (Week 9) through School Bytes. As always, the report will indicate whether or not your child’s teacher has requested an interview. I would like to remind you that even though an interview may not be requested by your teacher, you too will have the opportunity to request one.
Parent/teacher interviews are now booked through School Bytes.
From 9:00am Wednesday 19th June to Sunday 30th June parents can access and use the interview bookings.
To access School Interview bookings from the School Bytes app, follow these steps:
Log into the parent portal: Open the School Bytes app and log in using your credentials. A red banner will appear on the dashboard screen, notifying you that parent-teacher interviews are available for booking.
Click on the 'here' hyperlink or select interviews: This will redirect you to the interview booking panel.
Select the student's name: If you have multiple children, select the required child.
Select an interview session: Choose the available session that suits you.
Select the teacher and date: Select the teacher you want to meet and the date for the interview.
Select the preferred interview time slot: Only one time slot can be booked at a time.
Submit: You have the option to add any comments (if needed) and then submit your booking. Your booking will be secured and displayed in the 'Your bookings’ panel.

Public Speaking Finals
Congratulations to all students who have participated in our Public Speaking Competition this term. Class teachers will notify the students in each class who have qualified for the stage finals, which will be held in the school hall on the following dates:
Early Stage One and Stage One: 11:30am, Wednesday 26th June
Stage Two and Three: 9:10am, Wednesday 26th June
Premier’s Spelling Bee
Russell Vale Public School is once again participating in the statewide Premier’s Spelling Bee for students in Years 2 through to Year 6.
Class finalists will be competing in the Stage finals in the hall at 11:30am on Tuesday, 25th June.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability
Notification for Parents and Carers
All Government and non-Government schools across Australia are required to participate annually in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD).
All Australian schools will collect data on their students who are receiving adjustments to meet additional learning and support needs in accordance with their obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and Disability Standards for Education 2005. This data will be provided to the Australian Government to assist in the development of a consistent, national picture of the education needs of students with disability.
The data provided to the Australian Government by the NSW Department of Education is provided in such a way that it cannot be used to identify any individual student or school.

Privacy Protection
The NSW Department of Education follows the requirements of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002. Schools will collect, record, store and use data about individual students in line with these requirements. Data security and protection is a priority and students’ personal details will be kept confidential.
Under Clause 52 of the Commonwealth Australian Education Regulation 2013, data collected by the NSW Department of Education for the NCCD must be provided to the Australian Government Department of Education and Training. This includes the number of students at each level of education, the number in each category of disability and the number at each level of adjustment. The information is provided to the Commonwealth as a series of number sets that cannot be used to identify any individual student or school.
The Australian Government Department of Education and Training follows the requirements of the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 when handling any data provided by NSW Department of Education in connection with the national data collection. A public information notice has been developed to by the Australian Government to provide students, parents and carers with important privacy information in relation to the data collection. This notice is available on the department’s website at https://www.education.gov.au/what-nationally-consistent-collection-data-school-students-disability

World Environment Day
What a wonderful time our students had dressing in green and florals for World Environment Day. We are delighted to share with you that we have raised $288. The money raised will be used to purchase new fruit and native trees for our school for our students and community to enjoy.
