Term 2 Week 6
25 May 2026
Message from the Principal
NSW Public School Student Surveys
In Term 2, we are offering our students in Years 3-6 the opportunity to participate in the NSW Public Schools Student Survey. The survey gives students the chance to share their thoughts and feelings about life at school, including questions about their engagement, learning experiences and wellbeing at school.
Hearing directly from our students will help us understand what is working well and where improvements can be made. The survey is confidential, takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and will be conducted online during school hours.
Participation is voluntary. If you prefer your child not to participate, please complete the opt-out consent form, which was emailed directly to parents via School Bytes, and return it to the school. Further information about the survey is available at https://education.nsw.gov.au/npss.
NSW Public School Parent Surveys
In Term 2, we are also inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey. The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child’s learning is supported.
Hearing directly from our parents and carers will also help us understand what is working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You can access the survey at https://surveyme.education.nsw.gov.au/sc/bF_DtT1yrWXRL5wg7JbumQ2
Congratulations to Mrs Walker
Congratulations to Mrs Walker who has been successful in her application to take on the role of Relieving School Administration Manager at Tarrawanna Public School. Mrs Walker starts this role today and it will continue until the end of the term. We look forward to welcoming her back for Term 3. In her absence, Ms Wigginton will be working Mondays and Thursdays and Mrs Hewes will be working Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Soccer Knockout Team
Best of luck to our Boys’ Soccer Knockout Team in its game this Wednesday vs Bulli PS, starting at 1:30 pm, at Balls Paddock.
Reconciliation Walk
This Thursday, all students in Years 3-6 will take part in the Walk for Reconciliation in Bellambi. Students will depart school at approximately 10:00 am and will return before the 3:00 pm bell. Parents and carers are welcome to join us if they wish. Students are encouraged to wear their Indigenous uniform and reminded to dress appropriately for the weather, including a jacket if needed. Students will be provided with a sausage sandwich following the event. However, they will need to bring drinks, snacks and any other food required.
The weather forecast for this event does not look promising. Later in the week, more information will come regarding the possible cancellation of this event.
Athletics Carnival
What a fantastic day at the school athletics carnival! The weather worked out well for us! It was wonderful to see so much spirit, determination, and sportsmanship on display today. A huge well done to every student who gave it his or her all on the track and in the field, and a big thank you to the staff and parents who helped make the day such a success, especially Mr Batley for his superb organisation for the event.
School Photos
As a reminder for parents, our school photos are scheduled for Tuesday 26 May (tomorrow). For this occasion, we would like to see every student come fully dressed in the full school uniform, including black shoes, plain white socks, green pants/shorts/skort and a clean shirt. As the Year 6 shirts have arrived prior to photo day this year, the students have asked if they could wear their Year 6 shirts, rather than the school shirt. I think this is a great idea, so, if your child is in Year 6, please ensure that the Year 6 shirt is worn. Ordering information has been emailed directly to parents.
Stage One Excursion
A reminder that Wednesday 27 May is our Stage 1 excursion to the Science Centre and Botanical Gardens.
Gala Day
A reminder that Friday 5 June is our scheduled Gala Day for Years 3-6.
