Semester 2, 2025 Applications now open

Would you prefer to complete Year 10, 11 or 12 at TAFE Wollongong instead of school?

A message from TAFE:

We advise that Wollongong TAFE has begun taking expressions of interest for our 2025 Semester 2 intake for:

• Certificate II 11039NAT + 20119FSK ("ROSA Equivalent")
• Certificate III 11224NAT Preparation for Further Study ("Year 11 Equivalent")
• Certificate IV 11225NAT Tertiary Preparation Course ("Year 12 Equivalent")

Certificate II:

Certificate II (FSK20119 or 11039NAT) runs over 3 days per week, generally 9am - 2.30pm, and is completed in 15 weeks total. At the course outset, we run a three week  "Intro to Year 10" course to allow students to transition into their new learning environment and get to know each other and their teachers. This means that the total study time is 18 weeks, finishing in early December 2025. Through the Certificate II, students also complete either White Card, First Aid, or both, as well as units of study designed to assist in building interview skills, resume creation and workplace-specific or future vocational study skills acquisition.

Our next Certificate II cohorts will begin classes on 21st July 2025 and applications are now open. Students must be aged 15 before we can process their application. All applications must be throughyear10equivalent-south@tafensw.edu.au and must utilise the Year 10 Equivalent form (attached).

Certificate III (PFS) andIV (TPC):

Cert. III (11224NAT) and IV (11225NAT) run for 18 weeks and 16 weeks respectively and upon completion generate a Tertiary Entrance Score or TES for university entry. These courses are woven together; that is, Cert. III must be successfully completed as it forms the pre-requisite for the Cert. IV (see below for 2024 overview). We generally require applicants to be able to show at minimum an ACSF Level 3 in both English and Maths to qualify for this course and thus have them complete an RU Ready diagnostic tool with us prior to enrolment.
