Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples: Traineeship and Apprenticeship Opportunities @ WCC - Applications Now Open

 

Hi WHSPA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people,


Wollongong City Council is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we are proud to offer meaningful career pathways for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

 

We currently have two fantastic paid learning opportunities available for students looking to gain real-world experience, nationally recognised qualifications, and long-term career potential in a supportive and culturally safe environment.

 

Available Roles


Business Administration Trainee – Develop essential office and customer service skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and build confidence in a professional setting.


Formwork Carpenter Apprentice – Learn on the job with skilled tradespeople, working outdoors on real construction projects while completing your trade qualification.

 

These identified positions are open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants and form part of our commitment to creating strong employment pathways in our community as outlined in our Reconciliation Action Plan & Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Policy. Council holds an exemption under Section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
