Hey, Year 7!

Did you know that anyone at WHSPA can study Drama — even if you didn’t audition for it?

That’s right — Drama is open to all students in Years 8, 9, and 10 as an elective, and you don’t need any experience to get involved. All you need is curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to give it a go.

Some of you might remember me visiting your primary school last year, where we played drama games and explored the fun of performance. That was just a taste of what Drama at WHSPA is like.

Drama helps you build real-world skills:

🎭 Confidence in public speaking

🎭 Teamwork and collaboration

🎭 Creative thinking and problem-solving

🎭 The ability to express yourself clearly and boldly

Most of what we do is practical — think drama games, improvisation, creating original scenes, and exploring exciting performance styles. We also offer opportunities to perform in our Drama Showcases, which are a fantastic way to build your skills and shine on stage.

If you’ve ever enjoyed acting, storytelling, performing, or even just having a laugh while working with others — Drama might be the perfect fit for you.

So, when it comes time to choose your electives, don’t forget: Drama is for everyone — including YOU.
