Recently, students in Year 10 attended the 3-day Trade Readiness Program at Illawarra iTec.  Students learned about the importance of Workplace Safety and how to use basic hand tools and power tools on a building site.  By the end of the three days students worked in groups to build a basic house structure with brick footings, bearers and joists, flooring and stud walls ready to sheet.  It was great to see the students working well together in their groups.  This program gave students a realistic experience of what working in the building industry would be like.
