Dear parents/caregivers and students,

I hope you are feeling well rested after the recent holiday break. Here's an update on what is happening for Music Ensembles this term.

News:

The Music staff wholeheartedly thank Genevieve Brown for her direction and dedication to Vocal Ensemble over the last couple of years. The vocal ensemble in the interim will be taken by Mr O'Donnell. Rehearsals remain on Tuesday afternoon from 2:45 - 4:00pm.

Our Chamber Group will be put on hold for the remainder of the year until a new director is found. In the meantime, students in Chamber Group are invited to join the Concert Band with Mr Brinker. Rehearsals take place on Friday afternoon from 3:15 - 4:30pm. Please see Mr Brinker for practice parts for the current pieces.

Congratulations also to Mr Brinker and the students of Concert Band for their successful collaboration performance with Canterbury Girls and Boys High Schools late last term. We hope that this is the beginning of more collaborations to come.

Term 3 Music Ensembles Schedule:

• Monday 3:15 - 4:30pm - Stage Band with Mr O'Donnell
• Tuesday 2:45 - 4:00pm - Vocal Ensemble with Mr O'Donnell
• Thursday 3:15 - 4:30pm - Rock Band with Martin Taylor
• Friday 3:15 - 4:30pm - Concert Band (+Strings) with Mr Brinker

Term 3 Music Ensembles Events:

Winter Gala is only a couple of weeks away! All ensembles are performing; Stage Band, Concert Band, Junior & Senior Rock Band and Vocal Ensemble. The performances are on Wednesday 2^nd and Thursday 3^rd of August from 6~8pm in the DHSVAD Hall. Each night has a different program of dance, drama and music items, which will be released very soon. Please keep this in mind when you are purchasing your tickets.

Advance notice, Dulwich Hill Festival will be our next big performance event. Please add 10am - 4pm on Sunday the 17^th September to your diary. All Music Ensembles will be performing items across the whole day.
