An invitation is extended to our school community to see our Year 11 Visual Arts, exhibition called “Prints of Protest: The Artist as a Social Commentator" on Wednesday 20 August, 2025 in Seaview Gallery, 5-8pm.
In this powerful student-led exhibition, Year 11 Visual Arts students explore the role of the artist as a commentator on contemporary society. Through the medium of relief printing, students engage with urgent social, political, and environmental issues that shape our world today.
Each work reflects a deeply personal inquiry into themes ranging from climate justice and inequality to identity, protest, and power.
This exhibition curated by Year 11 Visual Arts students, features editions of two A4 size lino prints by each student, produced either in a single colour or reduction print using two colours. Each print stands as both a visual statement and a provocation—evidence of the student’s ability to think critically, make with intent, and contribute to the long tradition of art as a force for social awareness and change.
