Dear parent/carer,
Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 will be provided the opportunity to complete the annual reading comprehension and numeracy Check In assessment.
The Check In assessment is an NSW Department of Education online reading and numeracy package available to support all public schools to assess and monitor student learning. It is designed to provide teachers with consistent and up-to-date information about students' skills and abilities in literacy and numeracy, whilst also identifying students who may be experiencing difficulties in the classroom. The information obtained through these assessments will help inform targeted teaching and learning strategies.
When: Monday 18th August (Year 8) during Periods 1 & 2 in class time.
Equipment: Students are required to bring their fully charged laptops to school. Students may also use their personal headphones/earphones to hear an audio recording of the question.
Catch-up: Students who are absent on the date will be provided an alternate time during Week 5 to complete the Check In assessment.
If you are interested in further information about the Department of Education Check In assessment, please contact Mr Hoycard on 9560 7299.
Kind regards
Chris Hoycard
