Dear SGPS Parents and Carers,

The position of class parent/s for all classes at SGPS are ready to be filled. The role of class parent is one that supports both teachers and parents in facilitating communication, welcoming new families and encouraging community involvement. There is support for class parents through our P&C and we welcome parents who may want to work in a pair and share the role.

If you are interested please fill the nomination slip in and return to your classroom teacher. 

• If there are multiple expressions of interest for a class the class teacher will either ask if you are willing to share or through a fair process, choose the class parent and let them know. 
• If you have more than one child at SGPS and are willing to be a class parent for either class, there is room for you to add two classes. In this case could you print two copies and give to both class teachers?
• We would like to have all expressions of interest in by Wednesday 19th February and class parents notified by Friday 21 February. 

Once these are finalised we will begin the process of requesting permission for family contact details to be given to the class parent. If you are not applying for class parent, please keep an eye out on classroom windows, in the front office and through school email for the QR code which allow the P&C to collate class contact details for their class parents.

I thank our 2024 class parents for, in some instances, continuing to provide information to parents from their 2024 classes. This is not expected and is going above and beyond to support our school community.
