Years 2 -6 Swimming Carnival

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are busy preparing our swimming carnival which is being held in Week 5 on Wednesday 25th February.

This week further information about the carnival and a permission and payment form for all students in Years 2 – 6 will be sent via School Bytes.

Year 2 students please note:

Only students who are turning (or have already turned) 8 in 2026 and can confidently and competitively swim the 50m Freestyle event will be able to attend the carnival. For Year 2 competitors, the 50m Freestyle will be an 8-year-old event, which gives them the opportunity to qualify for the Zone 50 metres Freestyle 8 year old event. The 50m Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly will be a Junior event. This means that 8, 9 and 10 year olds (from Years 2,3, 4 and 5) will be competing against each other. Only Year 2 students who are competing in an event need to complete the swimming carnival permission, payment and entry forms.

Years 2-6, if your child is competing in an event at the swimming carnival, they will need to collect an entry form (blue for boys, pink for girls) from their class teacher. These will NOT be sent via SchoolBytes. Additional forms can be collected from the front office. Entry forms must be completed and returned to the class teacher by Friday 13th February. If your child is unsure whether they would like to compete in an event, it is recommended that they enter the event, as we cannot accept any late entries. However, we can withdraw students after this date if required.

We are also seeking parent helpers for the carnival. If you can volunteer your time, we kindly request that you complete the relevant section on the SchoolBytes permission form.
