Dear Parents and Carers, 

Sydney West PSSA will be holding tennis trials for Year 5 and 6 students who play competitive tennis at Yellow Ball standard or above. 

The trials for our area ( Auburn, Castle Hill, Merrylands, Parramatta ONLY) will be held on Monday 23 February at Dural Tennis Courts (Dural Park, Quarry Rd, Dural NSW 2158) 8:00am - 2:00pm (approx).

Students who are interested in attending this trial  will need to submit an application via Dash (Open Intake) which will provide the PSSA with information regarding their experience and playing ability. The DASH registration information will be advertised on the Sydney West PSSA website and Facebook. 

The registration information can also be found attached. The selection committee will select the students based on the information they have provided. If successful, students will be invited to participate in the Zone Trial. Invited students will also pay for ALL trials through Dash. Students will be notified that they are eligible to trial a week prior to their Zone Trial date (DASH EOI successful/unsuccessful). If parents have any questions about this process, the reasons are listed below:  

• Simplify the Zone Tennis Trial process
• Significantly reduce the number of students who are inexperienced/don't meet the playing criteria required at the State level.
• Eliminate the process of collecting money from parents/carers on the day of the trial, simplified transaction for the hiring of courts and purchasing of tennis balls
• Reduce the length of time required to complete the trial day/s.
• Consideration of student/player talent across all zones
