Dear Parents and Carers,

The Samuel Gilbert PS P&C have coordinated an evening of Interrelate family sessions on Thursday 19th March 2026.

The Interrelate Trick Talks program involves two one-hour live online presentations designed to give an overview of issues that preteens will experience. The educator presenting uses language that is appropriate for children and our families continue to provide us with positive feedback regarding these sessions and the benefits to their family. There will be two sessions:

  • Session 1: 'Where Did I Come From?' 6:00pm - 7:00pm (recommended Years 3-4)
  • Session 2: ‘Preparing for Puberty’ 7:15pm-8:15pm (Years 5 & 6, optional for Years 3-4)

The first session 'Where Did I Come From?' will begin the discussion on the male and female reproductive systems, as well as placing an emphasis on personal safety and protective behaviours. This session will run between 6:00pm - 7:00pm.

The second session is 'Preparing For Puberty'. This session covers the physical changes of puberty for both boys and girls, putting emphasis on the fact that it can be different for everyone. This session is recommended for children above Year 5, however, in the past, mature Year 3 and 4 students have attended. This session will run from 7:15 - 8:15pm.

Parents can register now to attend using the following link: https://events.humanitix.com/samuel-gilbert-ps-tricky-talks-19th-march-2026

There is a drop down menu that enables parents to select which session they wish to attend. Both sessions will be an hour long. Whether you choose to attend only one session or both, the cost is $45.00 per family including GST.

Some important points to be aware of:

•            There is a maximum capacity of registrations in each online session, and tickets have been allocated accordingly. Early registration is recommended. Only one registration per family is required.

•            The above link directs the parents to a registration page. Each family will need to complete the registration process to access the Interrelate platform. Parents/Carers will need to click the link located on the e-ticket to open up the Intererelate platform. No download is necessary.

•            Interrelate educators have a valid Working with children check or equivalent.

•            No student is to attend the online session without a parent/carer present.

•            Staff from Samuel Gilbert will be present at each session.

•            The Tricky Talks program has content that may be unsuitable for younger children. Parent supervision is required at all times.

•            If you and your child are unable to attend the live session but would like to access a generic recording of the program, you will still need to register to attend the workshop. Once registered, please email schoolservices@interrelate.org.au with your booking details and you will be sent the link to a recording following the live event.

If you have any questions concerning registration, please contact Elizabeth at etye@sgpspc.org.au.
