Dear Parents and Carers,

On Thursday April 2, we will be holding out annual Easter Hat Parade.

Years 1 and 2 will make their hats at school and some classes may ask for a few decorations from home. We ask that parents send in a plain cardboard hat base and a small bag of crafty ‘bits and pieces’ to decorate the cardboard hats (this can be related to Easter if you wish). Please do not send glittery or plastic hats as craft glue does not stick properly.

Top hats, crowns, and princess hats are quite easily prepared. There are some ideas below. Stickers, pom poms, ribbons etc. are ideal embellishments. Please do not send in ‘build your own hat kits’ as they are not child friendly. This takes away from the joy of independently constructing their hat. Craft items can be easily purchased from discount stores at minimal cost. 

Please send the cardboard base and items to school with your child on Wednesday March 18.
