Dear Parents and Carers,

Harmony Week in Australia will be celebrated from Monday, 16 March to Sunday, 22 March 2026 with the theme “Everyone Belongs.” The week celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity and promotes respect, inclusion and a sense of belonging for all.

Throughout the week, Samuel Gilbert Public School students will participate in a range of classroom activities that explore different cultures, traditions and perspectives, helping them develop an appreciation of the diversity within our community.

Our school will also mark Harmony Week with several special events:

  • Monday 16 March – Our school leaders will launch Harmony Week by sharing messages about respect, kindness and inclusion with students across the school.
  • Wednesday 18 March – Students are invited to wear orange, the official colour of Harmony Week, or dress in cultural clothing that represents their heritage.
  • Friday 20 March – The canteen will offer a special Harmony Week lunch order to celebrate the occasion. Further information and ordering details have been sent in a prior message.

We look forward to celebrating Harmony Week together as a school community,

Mrs G. Neldner

Assistant Principal (Stage 1)
