Attention students attending the swimming carnival on Friday

Our carnival will go ahead regardless of the weather as the Ridges Zone Carnival is on 2 March.  

Students who are successful at our carnival, and meet the zone qualifying times, will receive their zone permission note on Friday.  

This needs to be returned to school with payment by Tuesday 1 March 2022.  We realise this is a short turnaround time but we could not get an earlier carnival date.

Important Reminders:

1. Participating students need to be at school by 8:00 am sharp to meet the following teachers in front of the canteen:

• Year 2 and 3 students to meet Mrs Gill
• Year 4 students to meet Miss Griffiths
• Year 5 students to meet Miss Browne
• Year 6 students to meet Miss Cook

2. All students will be catching the bus to the carnival.  The bus will not wait for late students.

3. Students are to wear masks on the bus at all times.

4. Students are to bring recess, lunch and plenty of water.  Students will not be able to use the canteen.

5. Students should wear their swimmers underneath their sports uniform and bring their underwear to change into after their events. All items should be clearly labelled.

6. As the weather is predicted to be wet, students should bring wet weather gear and an extra towel. There is shelter to sit under between events.

7.  All students will take a swim test before events start.  Any student not able to competently swim 25m freestyle without stopping will not be allowed to swim in a 50m race.  This is to ensure the safety of students in the water.

8. Due to current Covid guidelines, no spectators are able to attend our carnival.
