Dear Parents/Carers,

Please see below for information regarding field events at the Athletics Carnival.

This year, we have asked students to nominate the field events they wish to compete in prior to the events taking place. They are able to do this through their classroom teacher.

FIELD EVENTS

High Jump and Long Jump: these events will be held at the School Athletics Carnival.

Shot Put: this event will be run at school on Tuesday 6th June 2023.

Discus: this event will NOT be run at the carnival due to safety requirements and time constraints. Students who wish to be considered for discus at the Ridges Athletics Carnival will need to submit a record of their recent distances from a Little Athletics Club. This may be emailed to the school (johnpalmer-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au)  or provided as a hard copy to Mr Pleffer.

Age Groups

The field events for the 3-6 Athletics Carnival will be held  in the following age groups:

Juniors (turning or have turned 8, 9 or 10yrs old in 2023)

11yrs (turning or have turned 11yrs old in 2023)

Seniors (turning or have turned 12/13yrs old in 2023)

This a reminder that all payments and permission for the Athletics Carnival are to be made through the School Bytes system before Wednesday 7th June 2023.
