On Wednesday 9 April 2025, Sydney’s newest world-class marketplace, Hay St Market at Paddy’s, was officially opened by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, NSW Premier Chris Minns, Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore and Minister Steve Kamper alongside industry leaders and dignitaries.

"The official opening of Hay St Market at Paddy’s is a huge milestone for our iconic market and highlights the possibilities for our traders, tourism and what lies ahead. We look forward to welcoming many more people through our doors for years to come" said interim CEO Dale Doonan.
