Sydney Markets Safety Blueprint
In November 2024, we engaged external organisation dss+, to conduct a review on the current state of the Market’s health and safety culture. This review included consultation with key Market stakeholders, and we want to thank those who took the time to provide their feedback and perspectives.
Most importantly, we wanted to give you an overview of the review results and what we are going to do next.
The review acknowledges the governance changes already underway which aim to improve the focus on, and effective implementation of risk and safety improvements. It also recognises that the stakeholders of Sydney Markets are proud and committed to the success of the Markets, with a strong desire to see improvement, and be engaged in making changes that secure a safe, long and successful tenures for all those who work and operate here.
The review identified three key areas where we can make safety improvements.
Maintaining the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone who enters the Markets is our highest priority, and we are committed to strengthening safety processes and capabilities to drive consistent practices and improve our safety culture.
We are working on an integrated safety plan that will involve systematic changes over the next 18 months to the way we do things, starting with:
