Halloween Disco – Recap
The Halloween Disco was held on Friday, 28 October and attended by over 90% of students, with former students and siblings sharing in the fun.
Staging such a massive event would not be possible without the monumental efforts of some key people:
Dina for sourcing the Halloween props, prizes, sweets, creating the Halloween lolly bags and managing the set up and running on the day
Eric and Andrew for designing, constructing and managing the Haunted House which proved to be such a scary success
A very big "thank you" to all our volunteers. Apologies if any parents have been omitted:
Helped to set up, decorate and get the school ready – Angelina, Claudia, Uta, Sam, Moeko, Fuyuko, Trisan, Jesslyn and Miranda
Helped set up and run the Haunted House – Eric, Andrew, Sam, Trisan and their ghoulie helpers
Helped at the canteen selling slushies, drinks and pizzas – Angeline, Anoop, Jesslyn, Fuyuko, Anna, Angelina, Nalika and Eunice
Thank you to Jesslyn for baking and donating Halloween treats which we sold at the canteen
Helped at the games stalls – Rachel, Jeremie, Ivon, Kim, Peter and Moeko
Ms Bailey for being our DJ, Ms Ganivet for helping at our games stalls and Mr Harris for being our water bombing attraction
Everyone who stayed to clean up, including Paula and Sara
Thank you to all these parent volunteers who gave up their time for days beforehand, on the day, during the event itself and afterwards to help clean up. It was a massive, epic event and we probably took on more than we could comfortably do with the limited number of volunteers we had – so a big thank you to all the volunteers who put in such an amazing effort for all our kids to enjoy.
Thank you to our sponsors – OSH Club, Dominos Pizza (Pyrmont) and Woolworths Metro (Wynyard).
We sold 235 entry tickets and raised over $2,700 after costs. The P&C will top up the contribution to enable a donation of $3,000 to Communities for Communities.
Colour Fun Run 2 – Lavender’s Excursion to Ninja Parc
Lavender was the top fundraising class for our Colour Fun Run 2 last term and decided to go to Ninja Parc for their excursion prize.
Here are some write ups and drawings by the students.
NINJA PARC by Hassan B
I loved NINJA PARC. All the fantastic equipment was epic. I wish I could go back to the stunning Ninja warrior courses. I think everybody will be overjoyed. I loved the warped wall. NINJA PARC IS a perfect place to take kids. It was funny when Ms Ganivet was screaming. It was a fun and fantastic day.
Our fabulous Ninja Parc excursion by Ellie C
Our class went to a wonderful excursion to Ninja Parc in South Granville. It was a fabulous day. We jumped on the rocks and it was a bit hard but we made it. After that, we dragged ourselves across the net and it was pretty fun. Then, we went on the monkey bars. I nearly made it the first time I tried, but I didn’t make it. The last obstacle was the warped wall. It was extremely hard, but Mia just made it. She was really tired after that, but we still kept playing. I had a really fun day at Ninja Parc. When I went back to school, I didn’t want the day to end so it was the best excursion ever.
