FSPS P&C March Update

  1. P&C AGM on Friday 10 March at 1pm in the school library.

AGENDA :

  • President’s report

  • Election of 2023 Office Bearers. Executive positions will be declared vacant and elections held for.

o   President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, co-Treasurer / Secretary

  • To be eligible to stand for an executive position and / or vote, you must be a financial member of the FSPS P&C prior to the AGM. A joining fee of $1 will be collected prior to the AGM.
  • We have committee members in their last year at FSPS and need new members to replace them on the executive.
  • The AGM will be followed by a P&C meeting with the new executive committee.
  1. Harmony Day – Tuesday 21 March
  2. FSPS will celebrate Harmony Day on Tuesday 21st March. Students are encouraged to dress in their national costumes or in the colour orange (the colour of Harmony Day), and will participate in organised cultural activities.
  3. Classes will perform at a special assembly from 9:15 am and students will parade in their national costumes. Parents are invited to stay and have lunch with their children on the day.
  4. This is a call out to parents to :

o   contribute a dish of their cultural heritage towards our Food Fiesta.

o   run a cultural activity in the school (share a story, video, craft or activity that reflects their cultural heritage).

o   help on the day, set up, serve food and clean up.

  • Harmony Day celebrations are dependent on parents and carers participation. 
    • We require food donations to hold our Food Fiesta.

o   We require parents / carers volunteers to do cultural activities that showcase different cultures to our children.

  • We require parents to help set up, serve food and clean up.
  • Please contact Luke (0402 484 778) or Dina (0411 205 378) if you would like to find out more or if you are able to donate food, run a cultural activity or help out on the day.

  • This is a colourful and spectacular event that celebrates the cultural diversity at Fort Street. It is only possible with the support and participation from our school community.
  • This is a P&C fund raising event with tickets sold to the Food Fiesta. Details will be made available next week.

  2. Canteen is much busier this year and is looking for volunteers to help out. Can you spare an occasional morning or even an hour after drop off to help. Please contact Jesslyn (0452 372 012) if you are able to help.
