Dear Parents and Carers,

To minimise further spread of COVID-19, NSW Health has advised that schools in the Greater Sydney region are required to implement the following steps immediately:

  • Visitors to the school premises are limited to those involved in delivering or supporting curricular activities.
  • Non-curricular social activities (such as school discos and staff social events that involve members of the community in addition to staff and students) are deferred.
  • Non-curricular activities and events held in school premises that involve members of the community in addition to staff and students must comply with the requirements of the current public health orders.
  • Essential school visitors continue to check in via the Service NSW QR code app or sign in for each visit and comply with the department’s COVID safe requirements, including personal hygiene, infection control and physical distancing requirements, while on the school site.

Staff and students in school settings are exempt from the requirement to wear masks, however individuals will be supported to wear masks if it is their preference to do so.

Masks remain mandatory on public transport. This applies to students aged 12 years and over, and staff when travelling to and from school and during school excursions by public transport or by chartered or private transport services. (Students aged 12 and over attending PSSA tomorrow will need to wear a mask on the bus.)

Additional cleaning measures will continue to be taken on school sites.

NSW Health regularly updates its advice and additional updates will be provided as the current situation evolves.

I will keep the community updated with any further advice I receive.

Kind regards,

Lisa Lupton

Principal
