Dear Parents and Carers
I hope everyone is keeping safe and well.
The DoE website has been updated and I have summarised the main points regarding Covid restrictions below. In addition I have attached a quick survey to assist us with planning arrangements for next week.
Please note that the Iron Cove Performing Arts Festival has been postponed (new date to be advised) and Friday’s PSSA sport will be cancelled. Our school event, Showcase at the Enmore Theatre, has been moved to a tentative new date of Wednesday 1 September.
School Operations Term 3, Week 1 (Tuesday 13 – Friday 16 July)
- Families are encouraged to keep their children at home wherever possible but no child will be turned away from school.
- Minimum staff on-site to oversee one unit of learning for students attending school site, noting that flexible syllabus requirements are in place.
- Canteens and uniform stores are not to operate.
- No community use arrangements. (Unfortunately this will mean there are no extra curricular activities, music tutors, speech and OT programs permitted)
- Continued enhanced cleaning and hygiene supply arrangements.
- No SRE/SEE
- No P&C activities on school sites.
- Non-essential visitors are not permitted on school sites.
- Further advice will be provided about opportunity class exams.
- All non–core curriculum related activities are to cease on school site.
Pick up and drop off arrangements
- Parents are requested to drop off and pick up their children at the gates, if you can. Parents of younger children, or children with disabilities/vulnerability are permitted to walk their children to/from the playground and will need to wear a mask, sign in with the QR code and limit time on school grounds to pick up and drop off only.
- Please adhere to physical distancing requirements
Preschool and Aftercare
- Preschool and Aftercare can continue to operate for those who need it. Families are encouraged to keep their children at home wherever possible but no child will be turned away.
- As per the broader health advice, early childhood staff are exempt from wearing face masks when they are working directly with children. However, staff must wear masks or face coverings otherwise, whenever indoors.
Students with disability
- Schools will consider additional support for families with students with disability and supporting their specific needs during this time.
- The Assisted School Travel Program (ASTP) will remain available for students who access the service and continue to attend school on site. Adhere to COVID safe practices in line with NSW Health advice.
I will have more details over the coming days and will keep the community updated.
Kind regards
Lisa Lupton
