Dear Parents and Carers,

This notice contains information about the Iron Cove Network Performing Arts Festival on Thursday 27th July 2023. We are performing in the Twilight Concert at 5pm. Please carefully read the instructions for both the rehearsal and the performance. The following groups will be performing at this event:

  • APS Big Band
  • Senior Choir
  • Senior Dance Ensemble
  • Stage 2 Drama Ensemble


Please complete the Digital Permission Form by Monday 17th July to ensure your child’s participation in the Iron Cove Festival.


Ticketing

As previously advised, tickets went on sale on Monday 26th June and are now sold out! Please ensure you have booked for the TWILIGHT CONCERT at 5pm on Thursday 27th July at The Seymour Centre.  Performing students DO NOT need a ticket.


Rehearsal Details

All students performing at the event must attend the rehearsal at the Seymour Centre on the same day as the performance. Please Complete the Digital Permission Form by Monday 17th July to ensure your child’s participation in the Iron Cove Festival.

Time

All students meet in the school quad for an 11.30am departure. Our rehearsal starts at 12.30pm

Students return to school by 3:00pm.  

Cost

$14.00 to cover bus travel to and from the venue

Bring

Your instrument and music folder (if applicable), an excursion bag with lunch, recess, hat, water bottle, quiet activity such as a book. Note: You do not need to wear your costume or performance outfit for the rehearsal.

Wear

Please wear your full school uniform to the dress rehearsal.

Twilight Concert Details

Venue

Everest Theatre, The Seymour Centre, Chippendale

Time


Student drop-off at the STAGE DOOR at 4.15pm (follow steps down the outside of the theatre of the Seymour Centre.)

It is the responsibility of parents and carers to get their child to the Seymour Centre by the drop-off time.


Twilight Concert in the Everest Theatre at 5pm. Running time 80 minutes.


Approximate pick-up time.

After the concert, we will meet parents at the STAGE DOOR of the Seymour Centre.



Drop Off and Pick Up

Drop Off Time:            4.15pm at the STAGE DOOR of the Seymour Centre.

Pick Up Time:             6:20pm (approx.) After the concert, we will meet parents at the STAGE DOOR of the Seymour Centre.

All students must be signed out by a parent or guardian.

Parents/ carers must arrange for their child to be dropped to the venue by the drop off time. Students cannot be picked up until the end of the whole performance. All students must leave with a parent or guardian. If another person is picking up your child, we will need written permission in advance.


What to Bring - Everyone

For the evening concert, please only bring essentials. All students should bring:

  • Water bottle
  • School Jumper (for warmth and to help us identify you)
  • Instrument, music and accessories (if required)
  • Any props or costumes assigned to you.                                                                


What to Wear and Bring by Ensemble


  • Senior Choir: Neat black leggings or long black pants, plain black t-shirt and black shoes and socks Please note: no faded jeans, coloured joggers, logos or midriffs. Concert lights are strong – if wearing leggings, make sure they are not see-through in bright light. Bring your school jumper for warmth (students will take this off to perform).
  • Stage 2 Drama Ensemble: Winter pyjamas – long sleeve top and pants. Plain or plain patterned, no logos/pictures/words/phrases that indicate current time period. Concert lights are strong – make sure they are not see-through in bright light. Bring your school jumper for warmth (students will take this off to perform). Shoes must be worn to and from the venue but will not be worn on stage.
  • Senior Dance Ensemble: Provided dance costume – black pants, black top, and gold jacket. Please come with long hair braided and make up applied as you did for our last performance. Bring your school jumper for warmth (students will take this off to perform). Shoes must be worn to and from the venue but will not be worn on stage. 
  • APS Big Band: Neat black clothing, shoes and socks. Please note: no faded jeans, coloured joggers, logos or midriffs. Concert lights are strong – if wearing tights, make sure they are not see- through in bright light. Bring your school jumper for warmth (students will take this off to perform).
