Calling all parents and carers at APS to pitch in and lend a hand on the 14th of October.

We are lucky enough to be selected by the electoral commission to be a voting venue for The Voice referendum. This is an amazing opportunity for our school to raise funds through tried and tested money spinners.

This is a great opportunity to get to know other parents in the community, you can vote when there's no queue, feast on some sweet baked goods and the best snags on this side of the bridge, enjoy the entertainment from the APS band & have coffee on tap!

For the time being we are recruiting volunteers to be a stall captain or stall 2IC to work alongside a member of the P&C for additional support, you won't be alone! Once these spots are filled a call will go out for volunteers to do shift work throughout the day. Short shift of a couple of hours to chat, sell and have fun! For the major players the fete runs from 7-3pm (this includes set-up and pack down).

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say let’s try and blow last year's fete out of the water with the following stalls:

  • BBQ Fete Stall selling bacon and egg rolls, democracy sausages, halloumi rolls and even onion rolls (I kid you not, we sold a few onion rolls at the public’s request!)

  • Cakes and Treats stall - baked by the APS community!

  • Kitchen Garden / Flowers Stall - jams, marmalades, bread bags, carry bags, flowers and other goodies

  • Kids games - sideshow alley vibes

  • Coffee - Hoping the rockstars from Rising Sun are keen again

  • Hoodies - The Dale hoodies

  • Arts & Crafts - Face painting, hair spraying, bracelet making, temporary tats

  • Up Cycle - Decent second hand clothes / toys / books etc

  • Ready made meals - Any restaurateurs, chefs or cooks out there?

Also if there is a hidden talent we haven’t yet been made aware of and you would like to contribute, get in touch - nothing is off the table at this point. The funds raised help provide all the little extras at APS. On that note, to help put these funds to good use, come and join the P&C and help us allocate the funds to make APS the best local public school there is!
