What are Sports High Schools?
Sports High Schools are specialist NSW Government schools for talented sportspeople or students with high potential in other physical pursuits.
Sports high schools enable students to pursue sporting excellence as part of their high school studies.
What are the benefits of sports high schools?
Students benefit from:
- having flexible educational programs that support their training and competition commitments
- access to specialised training facilities and fields
- remaining in the NSW public education system while studying the core curriculum.
You may be eligible to apply even if the school is outside your local enrolment area.

The application process
To gain placement as a high potential/gifted sportsperson in a sports high school your child must:
- be enrolled at the school through the standard, 2-step moving to high schools process by:
- submitting an expression of interest from 3 March 2025.
- submitting an enrolment application.
- apply to the schools talented sports program and attend any trials. Visit the school website for application information.
- meet any other enrolment conditions specific to the school.
