Dear Kiama Community,
The current advice for Kiama High School is as follows. We are returning to face to face learning with limited restrictions. This means:
- Students are learning at school. There is not a hard border. All students enrolled at Kiama High School are eligible to attend. All families need to follow NSW Health advice if they have visited a notified site or have any symptoms outlined by health. Please contact the school if your query is not answered on the NSW Health website.
- Restrictions will be in place to ensure activities are COVID safe. Excursions and assemblies can proceed in this manner. Sport can only occur within our LGA.
- There are to be no non-essential visitors.
- Our canteen is operating for students but no parent volunteers will be onsite. Janelle and Nicole our amazing staff will bear all the work.
- The uniform shop moves back to click and collect only on reduced operating hours for weeks 1-3. Tuesdays and Fridays for one hour to fill online orders.
- QR codes are in place. This remains our current procedure. The addition this term is that all staff now need to sign on every day with our QR code.
- Recommended masks indoor for all staff and secondary students. Students coming on public transport will be required to wear a mask.
- Year 12 students will complete their Trial examinations as planned at this point in time. Our invigilators (supervisors) are the same people we use for the actual HSC and they are very experienced and are considered workers for this purpose.
- For updates please check NSW Health or the NSW Department of Education as they guide our practice.
Thank you for your ongoing support for our staff and students.
