Best Start

Dear parent,

We hope your child/children have had a great first week of school. We have had the best week getting to know your amazing children. 

This email is to inform you about the Best Start Assessment. 

Starting tomorrow we will begin implementing this assessment to our kindergarten students. The Best Start assessment helps us identify the literacy and numeracy skills your child brings to school.

Our kindergarten teachers - Kim Kavanagh or Bronwyn Moncrieff will administer the assessment individually with our students in Kindergarten.

We expect that this will take us 3 weeks to get through all of our students. 

We will let you know via email when your child has completed the assessment. 

Also coming home with students today (check bags) is a ‘Getting ready for primary school’ booklet published by the NSW Department of Education. This booklet may provide you with information pertinent to you as your child transitions into primary school.
