Please find listed below the arrangements for our choir's participation in the Southern Illawarra Music  Festival. There is a lot of important information contained in this note, so please read all of it carefully. Please contact Mrs Ruscica OR Miss Hunter if you have questions regarding this information.
 
 

DAY REHEARSAL: Tuesday 17th October, 2023

• Held at The University of Wollongong Grand Hall.
• Full school uniform is to be worn- but NOT your best uniform. Save that for the night performance.
• Students need to be at school by 7:15am. The bus will leave promptly at 7:25am. Anyone who is late will have to be driven to the University by their parents.
• Students need to take morning tea, lunch and water bottle. They may bring a quiet activity to do during their break as they will remain inside eg cards, book, no electronic devices.
• Students will return to school by 2:50pm so they will be able to catch afternoon buses home if required.
   
   

EVENING PERFORMANCE: Tuesday 17th October, 2023

• Held at The University of Wollongong Grand Hall. 
• Parents transportation required. 
• Full school uniform to be worn.
• Hair neat and tied back from your face with small, green accessories if needed. Low hairstyle as girls need to be able to put on a hat. No large bows are permitted.
• The Festival starts at 7:00p.m, sharp, Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Parents are to drop their child at the designated meetinq place at 6:15p.m. This location will have been communicated to your child at the day rehearsal. Please remove all children's jumpers and jackets at this time, as they will not be returning to this room following the performance. Children do not bring water bottles with them on the night.
   

Please note the following important points:

• Choir members do NOT require a ticket and do not pay. Parents and guests need to purchase a ticket and bring their tickets.
• Seats are not numbered, i.e., on the evening, it will be first in, best seat. All choirs will be seated on stage and all ticketed seats have a good view of the stage.
• This is a non-profit, self-funded event. The money from ticket sales is used to fund such costs as: venue hire, removalists transporting and erecting staging, purchasing original music, copyright, performance licence, teacher release for the Musical Directors to run the rehearsals, production of teaching CDs (Recording Studio) and resources, printing of tickets and programs, repairs/replacement of staging, instruments, etc.
• No food or drink (except water) is to be brought inside the Hall.
• All members of the audience, including young children, are asked to display correct concert etiquette, e.g. remain seated, keep conversation to a quiet minimum, applaud politely at appropriate times, etc.
• At the end of the Festival, which will finish at approximately 9:00 p.m., the audience will be given information about how to collect choir students.
• Prior to the doors opening at 6.30 p.m., parents are responsible for their children. Teachers will not be supervising students outside the Uni before or after the performance. Once the doors are open and students enter, they become the responsibility of teaching staff, and will be expected to display a specific code of behaviour. When students are dismissed at the end of the Festival, parents resume responsibility for their children.
